Hydrogen peroxide is a multi-purpose, viscous liquid with strong oxidizing properties. It is a powerful bleaching agent which can be used in a variety of ways. In a diluted form, it serves as a mild disinfectant, bleaching and water purifying agent. In strong concentrations, it is used as an oxidant in rocket fuels.

Hydrogen peroxide is also used in production of many beauty products, teeth whiteners and household cleaners. Great caution must be exercised if working with concentrated hydrogen peroxide on industrial scale as it is unstable and has the potential to cause widespread harm.
